Janapadabrahma Manapragada Narasimha Murthy Award for Excellence in Folk Arts

It's that time of the year again when the committee of FARMI (Folk Arts Research and Music Institute) meets with APSO (Amateur and Professional Singer's Organization) India to decide the festivities for the annual Folk Arts Festival to be held in Ravindra Bharathi, Hyderabad, India. The names for the awardees are being nominated for both the Life Time Achievement Award and the MNM Award. Held every year to commemorate the birth aniversary (June 1st) of the man considered by many as the father of folk arts (Janapadabrahma) of Andhra Pradesh, India, the Folk arts festival will hit an important milestone this year with its 10th year function. The folklore arts' award ceremony will be followed by energetic and exuberant display of folk songs and dances. FARMI and APSO strive to sustain in endangered folklore arts of Andhra Pradesh.
